Simone Lubrani first began tattooing in 1999 in Italy with the help of one of his mentors Markan of Markan Tattoo. It was an experience that made him want to learn more about the craft and even pursue it as a career. He had been drawing and painting a lot at the time and tattooing seemed like the perfect artistic outlet. Simone was born and raised in Northern Italy and eventually decided to travel to England several times in order to learn a more colorful approach to tattooing. Northern European and Italian artists have different techniques for tattooing so he was able to integrate both cultures into his learning experience. In 2003 Simone decided to come to the United States and then New York City - there was something about this place that made him want to stay, so he did. The energy in this city is definitely unique and the artists and people here are so diverse and different. He has had the chance to connect with a lot of amazing artists and to tattoo really cool people and is very grateful for that. He believes that tattoos are something that should still look good in 20 or 30 years from now and that is what he keeps in mind while tattooing.
